Abstract
Phototropic bacterial studies were carried out from lakes in Deulgaon
Raja Taluka and Wadali Lake in Amravati which showed presence of Rhodopseudomonas,
Rhodospirillum & Rhodobacter spp. characterized on the basis of
morphological & biochemical properties. Further photosynthetic pigment was
isolated from these bacteria and was characterized. These pigment has a wide
range of application most significant being artificial retina preparation.
Despite tedious cultivation protocol these bacteria were isolated from Lakes in
Deulgaon Raja Taluka and Amravati District Lake.
